Roller Garage Door Installation Standards
A manufacturer of either a garage door or drive unit, once they have satisfied the requirements of the relevant standards, are able to demonstrate to specifiers and users of their products by declaring that those standards have been met.
With respect to manually operated domestic garage doors, the manufacture will;
- Provide a Declaration of Conformity with the mandate elements of the construction products directive with every door supplied.
- Apply a CE mark to every door supplied (as of January 2004)
- Where the door is suitable for powered operation, provide a Declaration of Incorporation in accordance with the Machine Directive.
For those companies that produce garage door drive units sold separately to the actual garage door, they will provide;
- A Declaration of Conformity with Low Voltage and Electro Magnetic Compatibility Directives.
- A CE Mark applied to the product for Low Voltage and Electro Magnetic Compatibility Directives.
- A Declaration of Incorporation in accordance with the Machine Directive.
With reference to manufacturers who produce power operated doors with integral drive units incorporated will have to provide with every garage door;
- A declaration of Conformity with the standards, including the mandate elements of the Construction Compatibility Directive.
- Provide a Declaration of Incorporation in accordance with the Machine Directive.
- Declaration of Compliance with Low Voltage and Electro Magnetic Compatibility Directives.
